Wayne Willets

Wayne is a wood worker and crafter from Christchurch in Dorset. He is known for turning pieces of driftwood into unique items of furniture.

A keen windsurfer for over 25 years, Wayne has travelled the world chasing the wind and waves. After this, he worked as a surf board shaper back in Dorset.

In 2003, he was asked to repair his friends beloved surfboard. However, the core had snapped so it was beyond repair. Instead, they decided to laminate a mirror into the board as his friend wanted to display it on his lounge wall. The seed for Surf Mirrors was set.

5 years later Wayne had acquired a workshop and now his days are spent creating new pieces of mirrored art using all the culture and skills he has learnt on his travels.

He will photograph the progress of the item that he makes from the One Ash.
