Peter Jameson
Peter Jameson, a.k.a charcoal Peter, is a city and guilds qualified carpenter and joiner. During the week he works as a Building Surveyor, and since 1994 he has spent his weekends working as a charcoal burner and green woodworker.
On tree felling day, Peter made one and a half axe handles and a tent peg from Dorset Ash and a Gypsie style clothes peg from a twig taken from the One Ash - the first thing to be made from the tree!
From an upper crown limb he hopes to make an axe handle or four at the spring meeting of the Dorset and Hampshire local group of the association of pole lathe turners and green woodworkers on 15th march.
When given some of the lop and top from the One Ash tree, he will make some lumpwood charcoal.
