Bluebird Care Teams Embrace Nature with Team-Building Adventure at Harmony Woods

This week, the two teams from the Andover branch of Bluebird Care took a refreshing break from their daily routines, trading in their uniforms for outdoor gear and embracing the great outdoors at Harmony Woods. On Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons, the dedicated teams swapped their regular caregiving roles for an invigorating team-building adventure that was filled with fun, laughter, and a bit of healthy competition.

Harmony Woods, known for its serene environment and scenic beauty, provided the perfect backdrop for the teams to reconnect with each other and with nature. The activities kicked off with a series of creative team-building games designed to test communication, trust, and problem-solving skills. Games like "Bat and Moth," where participants navigate blindfolded while relying on teammates’ verbal cues, and "Wolf and Sheep," a strategic pursuit game, brought out plenty of smiles and friendly rivalry.

Another favourite was "Tik Tok," a game that challenged participants’ quick-thinking and creativity, while "What Am I?" provided a fun guessing challenge that revealed surprising insights into how well team members had taken in the environment around them. And, of course, no nature-themed day would be complete without “Bird Song,” where the teams mimicked different bird calls to find their counter-part, sparking laughter and light-hearted competition.

But the fun didn’t stop there. Under the guidance of experienced Andover Trees United instructors, the teams learned practical skills like fire lighting and wood chopping — tasks that not only built camaraderie but also instilled a sense of accomplishment and resilience. Foraging around Harmony Woods introduced many to the edible wonders of the forest floor, leading to a hands-on experience in sourcing ingredients straight from nature.

The highlight for many was undoubtedly the campfire cooking session. Gathering around the crackling flames, the teams shared stories, roasted marshmallows, and cooked their foraged finds, adding a delicious end to an action-packed day. The warmth of the fire paired perfectly with the lighthearted atmosphere, fostering deep connections among team members.

The team-building sessions at Harmony Woods offered much more than just a day in the sun. They were a chance for the Bluebird Care teams to bond, build trust, and strengthen relationships outside the work environment, all while reconnecting with the natural world. With smiles all around and a renewed sense of unity, it’s safe to say that these afternoons spent at Harmony Woods were a resounding success, leaving everyone rejuvenated, inspired, and ready to bring that positive energy back into their care roles. In the end, it wasn’t just the wood they chopped or the fires they lit; it was the connections they strengthened and the memories they created that made these two afternoons truly memorable.

Bluebird Care is committed not only to providing exceptional care to those in need but also to nurturing a strong, united team. These team-building sessions reflect that dedication, proving once again that a happy, connected team makes for a better, more compassionate caregiving service.
