Vote for Andover Trees in the 2020 Climate Campaign!

With so much weighing on the world’s minds during these difficult and uncertain times, we at Andover Trees are looking to the future as our work and our hope continues. We would be honoured if you could take a moment to read the following message.

During April 20-24th, Andover Trees United are taking part in a Global Giving Climate Action Campaign, where every donation given to our project, 10000 Children - 10000 Trees - For You , will be matched by 50%!
If we do well in the campaign, we might also be selected to receive further funding from GG, which equates to around $10,000 over the year. This would be amazing for Andover Trees and will enable us to continue to serve our community and environment.

The money we raise will help to fund the involvement of 2000 more children to complete 2 more year's tree planting and initiate an outreach programme to other communities.

So far, 8000 children have planted 8000 trees over 8 years resulting in our community woodland, Harmony Woods. That’s 8000 young decision-makers of tomorrow that have connected to nature. With our follow up work of school-based and community engagement programs, we’re engaging our young people in environmental education, we’re providing emotional connections to our natural world, and we’re finding hope in youth.

Our committed team of volunteers (of all ages and backgrounds) work tirelessly to maintain this community-planted woodland, protecting its biodiversity and helping it to reach its potential as a learning resource and field study centre, and providing a beautiful space for all to enjoy. Carbon capture and connecting people to nature are key in building climate resilience.

By the passing on of knowledge and the teaching of new skills (such as tree maintenance), we are empowering people to shape their own communities, helping them to understand how they can improve their own lives by improving their environment.

We would like to use some money raised to begin to share this model of work, as we believe in order to develop nationwide climate resilience, there should be a ‘trees united’ group in every town.

There are two important ways to help: by making a donation and by widening the reach of the campaign. Every unique donation will help us climb the campaign leaderboard regardless of donation amount.
We would be incredibly grateful if you could take a moment to share our project page and/or our social media posts, adding your own personal message where you can. Between April 20-24th, any financial support you might be able to give will undoubtedly make a real impact on the work that I and the rest of the ATU team do, and will be very gratefully received.

The 22nd April is also the 50th anniversary or Earth Day, what better way to mark the occasion than to support your local environmental conservation group. Out of all the worthy causes in the world, we would be honoured if you choose ours to support and help us make our dream a reality. :)
Thank you.

Very best wishes, the Andover Trees United team.
