Forest School Club

Saturday 19th October

Once again the English weather managed to surprise, as the sun shone down on another wonderful afternoon at the woods. It was a jam-packed session this month, with many parents joining us to play, explore and enjoy.

Our new trolley enabled the group to enjoy collecting mud and creating some delicious treats at the mud kitchen! Centipedes were the centre of attention this session, with the group not only exploring their habitats but learning what it would feel like to move and feel like a centipede! New homes were made and clay versions were created.

The young people continue to develop their skills. This week, trimming hazel with secateurs as well as learning how to use both ends of a hammer were mastered by several of the group - great job everyone!

The club is currently full, but if you would like to be added to the waiting list, please do contact me at joanna.oliver-hawkins@andovertrees.org.uk

Our brand new Forest School club started up in September, on a beautiful sunny Saturday afternoon.

Our Forest School club will be held once a month on a Saturday afternoon until the Spring time, when we hope to offer an after-school club as well. The dates for the upcoming sessions are Saturday 19th October, Saturday 16th November, and Saturday 14th December.

Our first session was a chance to explore the area at the bottom of the wood, harvesting hazelnuts, collecting fallen apples and turning them into bird feeders as well as playing lots of fun games! If you would like to find out more about the Forest School club, please message me on
