Our Annual Fundraiser ‘Auction of Promises’ is back!

Friday 23rd May at Wherwell Village Hall from 6.45 PM to 11.00 PM

Join us to support youth provision in Nature at our annual fundraising event. Help us raise funds crucial to our charitable work, take part in a silent auction and a live bidding auction too. Enjoy a delicious supper along with drinks from the bar. Perhaps you’ll make another kind of donation, such as making a cake or offering an hour of gardening, no donation is too small!

Our annual auction of promises event is back! This year you will be helping us to raise funds to pay staff to run children’s nature activities in the wood.

Difference Between a Silent Auction and Live Auction

During a silent auction, there will be various tables and displays of items that guests can place bids on by writing their pledges. The bids can be seen by everyone so they can review the situation, check on the highest bid and determine if they want to exceed it in a bid to win. (Silent auctions are like going to a shop where there is just one of everything, choosing which items are the ones you want, and making written bids in an attempt to be the highest and thereby go home with it.) Once the time has run out to make bids, the last person on the list will be the highest bidder and they win the item.

Live auctions consist of guests raising their hand to bid for items in real-time The bidding stops when nobody wants to go any higher - the highest bidder, the last to offer a bid, will win the item. Auctioneers facilitate the live auction with a fabulous stage presence and presentations to sell the items to the assembled guests.

Identifying Trees in Spring

Join our Intern, Hebe Everington, May’s Wild Harmony Event! A woodland walk and identification activities.

On Saturday, 17th May, from 10:30 AM to 1 PM at Harmony Woods. You’ll enjoy a morning of discovery and connection with nature, as well as learning how to recognise tree species using key features including leaves, buds and bark!

What to Expect:

• A guided woodland walk to observe and learn about native tree species

This next session in our wildflower project - Disappearing Wildflowers, we’ll be pricking out seeds that will later bloom in the new meadow at Harmony Woods. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced gardener, this is a great opportunity to learn, connect with nature, and make a meaningful impact in our community.

Bringing Kids Along? No problem! We’ll have a special crafting activity for children running alongside the seed sowing, so they can join in the fun too.

Biodiversity Walk & Nature Journaling

Join us for our very first Wild Harmony Event – the new name for our citizen science sessions at Andover Trees United! As the Ecology Intern for 2025, Hebe can’t wait to kick off this new initiative with you.

On Saturday, 19th April, from 10:30 AM to 1 PM at Harmony Woods. We’ll enjoy a morning of discovery and connection with nature, as well as exploring the biodiversity of the woods on a guided walk and diving into the art of nature journaling.

What to Expect:

• A guided biodiversity walk to observe and learn about local wildlife

• A relaxing nature journaling activity to deepen your connection with the environment

Easter Storytelling: Wake Up Bees!

📅 Wednesday, 16th April - 10am - 12pm (ages 3-7) & 2pm - 4pm (ages 7-11) at Harmony Woods

Interactive Storytelling and Craft Session

Lady Spring has overslept and it’s just too cold for the magical folk to create their fairy rings in the woods! Luckily a tiny fairy called Daffodil has a plan, but she’ll need to wake up the bees first!

Come and celebrate Spring with a fun, interactive retelling of this traditional Cornish folktale with Amanda Kane-Smith from Merry-go-Round Storytelling. Then create your own bee hotel and finger puppet to take home! This session will also include outdoor games.

With familiar face Matt and Natalia!

Cost: £10 per child (includes snacks and all craft materials). Morning session (10am - 12pm) open to ages 3 to 7. Afternoon session (2pm - 4pm) open to ages 7 to 11. Parents of younger children (under 7) will need to stay and join the fun!

Traditional Easter Craft with artist Jolanta Rolt

📅 Tuesday, 8th April - 10am-1pm

Come and take part in a Traditional Easter Egg decorating workshop, led by artist Jolanta Rolt. You’ll decorate your own eggs using natural plants and dyes.

This will be followed by an Easter egg hunt around the wood, with familiar faces Matt and Natalia.

February’s Community Conservation Day

This time, we’ll be planting an area of Dog Rose, just outside of the conservation corner. If you haven't planted a tree yet, now's your chance! It’s a fantastic opportunity to learn how to plant trees and care for them, whether you’re new to tree planting or looking to sharpen your skills.
